Pinewoods Lousewort (Pedicularis semibarbata)

Pinewoods lousewort (Pedicularis semibarbata) is a perrenial herb native to coniferous forests of California and Nevada. It has yellow flowers that are often somewhat hidden beneath several deeply lobed leaves. As is the case with most members of the broomrape family, this species is a root parasite which obtains nutrients from other plants.
