California Blushing Monkeyflower (Erythranthe erubescens)

The California blushing monkeyflower (Erythranthe erubescens) is a California-native wildflower whose range also extends slightly into western Nevada. Its pink flower petals distinguish it from Lewis's monkeyflower (Erythranthe lewisii), whose flowers are generally a darker magenta-purple. However, some publications (especially those that still place these plants in Mimulus) make no distinction between these species and classify them both as the latter.
