Tiburon Mariposa Lily (Calochortus tiburonensis)

The Tiburon mariposa lily (Calochortus tiburonensis) is a rare plant which is endemic (restricted) not only to California, but to a single serpentine outcrop in Marin County. These beautiful wildflowers are adorned with intricate patterns and numerous setae (hairs), making them a favorite among locals and flower enthusiasts worldwide.
