"Alpine Biscuit" (Spongiporus leucospongia)

"Alpine biscuit" (Spongiporus leucospongia, common name by photographer) is a high-elevation snowbank mushroom. The fruiting body starts out soft, foam-like, and whitish, but darkens with age to a golden brown. It is commonly found in spring along with the much more flamboyant orange sponge polypore.
