Toy Soldiers (Cladonia bellidiflora)

Toy soldiers (Cladonia bellidiflora) is a species of cup lichen known for its vibrant red apothecium, or spore-bearing "cap." C. macilenta is similar, but the upper portion of its podetium or stalk is much smoother without the scaly leaf-like structures.
