Cobwebby Thistle (Cirsium occidentale)

The cobwebby thistle or cobweb thistle (Cirsium occidentale) is a California-native plant which is mostly endemic to the state (extending slightly into Oregon and Baja California). Its leaves are coated with fine white hairs which resemble spider webs; hence the common name.
